Do I need to live in Omaha to receive services?
For Nebraska clients living at a distance, we offer a secure and HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform from the comfort of your home.
Do I still need health insurance?
We aim to provide you an onetime expert psychiatric opinion and/or ongoing support services; however, medical conditions and illnesses can arise that require specialty care, hospitalization or surgery. Omega Health services are not intended to take the place of health insurance.
Are there any restrictions?
At this time, we cannot accept cash payments from those enrolled in Medicare. This is due to very strict regulations about payments for cash services and credentialing of doctors. Also, due to a conflict with an employer agreement we cannot offer cash services to Veterans.
Can I receive my psychiatric medications from this clinic?
Please note that we provide an one time consultation for people currently under the care of a prescriber and will remain in a consultative capacity, rather than transferring such patients to our clinic. We do not prescribe controlled or pain medications.
We cannot provide ongoing care, refills or psychiatric prescriptions. You would have to contact your regular provider for that. This way, we can keep overheads low and focus on YOU and collaborate with your trusted providers. “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb.
Do you accept medical insurance?
Most of our services such as exhaustive medical chart review, home video appointments etc. are typically not covered by payors. We nevertheless recognize that these are critical gaps in our current healthcare model and hope that patients and families will take advantage of this unique service. We don't bill your insurance; however, will provide you with a superbill that you can file with your insurance carrier.
How is my health information secured to protect privacy?
The use of digital technology allows us to provide high quality care at a low cost. We do not discuss your health with others without your consent, but we do use electronic servers to store your medical information which can be subject to data breach. Omega Health Partners is not responsible for data breach and release of your information from outside servers, including our online vendors. We do not keep social security or credit card information on file.
How is payment for services processed?
All payments are processed using Square. Your credit or debit information is stored by Square, not by Omega Health Partners.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend the initial consultation session, please be sure you cancel at least 48 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged a no-show/cancellation fee.
Do I need internet access?
Omega Health Partners relies on the use of computer technology to facilitate easy appointment scheduling, completion of intake forms and rating scales. All clients are required to have internet access and be able to use the online patient portal, or to have a designated healthcare advocate (trusted family member or friend) who does. Nebraska residents who are eligible for home video appointments will need the following - computer or compatible device, webcam, microphone, internet connection and access to private space in their home.
Why can't I receive these services from my current provider?
The traditional health care setting does not make it efficient for your providers to go through your medication records with a fine-tooth comb, use standardized psychiatric symptom rating scales, review the vast scientific literature on failed and successful medication trials and match the best evidence to your unique needs. Such a review can consume several hours and requires expertise to critically appraise a burgeoning scientific literature. Also, your trusted primary care physician or other mid-level provider might not be familiar with the vast array of psychiatric medication strategies.
How long does it take?
The timing varies depending on how quickly we are able to collect your relevant medical records. You can also log in to your secure online account at any time to track the progress of your case.
